Rotterdam 3th of June 2020- With the signing of the lease contracts by the municipality of Central Delfland and Delta Development Group, the official start has been given for the construction of a warehouse for Sandvik on the HarnaschPolder business park. As a European Distribution Centre, the building will be an important link in Sandvik’s supply chain. The property is being developed by Delta Development Group in partnership with European Logistics Real Estate Partners (ELREP) supported by Pacific Investments.

The sustainably built logistics building has a floor surface area of 15,730 sqm. It has 105 parking spaces and 10,000 sqm of roof solar panels.It will be equipped with high-quality automated order-picking systems and will employ approximately 180 employees. Sandvik AB has entered into a long-term agreement for the property. It will be a crucial link in Sandvik’s supply chain as a European Distribution Centre.

The building is being developed according to the circular Cradle-to-Cradle principles, and therefore fits perfectly with Sandvik’s own philosophy of integrating sustainability within all their activities. The building was designed by OPL Architects and is being built in line with Delta’s Next Generation Logistics concept. It integrates functionality, human-centered design, high-quality technology and circularity in such a way that the building meets the highest requirements of functionality, productivity and sustainability. In order to guarantee this sustainability, and because Delta and ELREP value long-term mutually beneficial relationships with their partners, the parties will remain responsible for the property as both asset and investment managers.
