Rotterdam 13 November 2019 – Topcon has signed a long-term agreement for the lease of a new distribution center to be developed on the Dutch Tech Campus in Zoetermeer.
High-tech company Topcon has been based in the Rotterdam region since the 1970s. At the new location, Topcon can better respond to the growing logistical and associated infrastructural challenges. In addition, the ecosystem of technology companies and education on the campus enables Topcon to establish further connections in the region.
The distribution center to be developed comprises approximately 3,350 sqm of warehouse, approximately 1,000 sqm of office space, approximately 336 sqm of mezzanine and 30 parking spaces and is owned by PingProperties Siemens Tech Campus Fund N.V.
Dutch Tech Campus is located in the heart of the Randstad, along the A12 motorway in Zoetermeer. With a size of no less than 130,000 m², Dutch Tech Campus houses a wide range of successful technology companies such as Siemens and Teleplan. Spread out over 10 buildings, the campus comprises a total of 42,412 sqm of office space and high-quality business and production space. In addition, the location has a development potential of 36,000 m² and the overarching area is being transformed into a Dutch Innovation Park, of which the Dutch Tech Campus is a part, along with the Dutch Innovation Factory (DIF).
Cushman & Wakefield advised Topcon on the choice of location and the conclusion of the lease in cooperation with HVG Law. Technical support for Topcon was provided by the Project & Development Services team of Cushman & Wakefield.
PingProperties was advised in this transaction by INDUSTRIAL real estate partners (commercial), Florent (legal) and CBRE (management). The delivery of the building is planned for the end of 2020 and will be carried out by construction company Aan de Stegge.
